St. Mary's Ladies Getaway

March 26 - 28, Yellow Point Lodge, Vancouver Island

For three days every March, thirteen of St. Mary's finest ladies retreat to Yellow Point Lodge which is located south of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and you are invited to come along!

We traditionally stop at the Cow & Crow Pub for lunch the first day and then settle into Victoria House. Once we're settled, everyone decides what we will do - some read, some hike, some knit - there are no rules. We join other guests in the Lodge for dinner and then we retreat to Victoria House where we play games, chat, enjoy wine and snacks, or go to bed early. Those who opt to stay in the Lodge can play ping pong, work jigsaw puzzles, play a musical instrument (if you're talented) or just enjoy lounging in front of the massive fireplace.

We are limited to 13 ladies because that is the maximum capacity of Victoria House. Right now there are nine confirmed ladies going and four spots still open. We are delighted to have newcomers Barbara, Elisa and Virgie join us this year.

Last year Arvin volunteered to come along as Chaplain, but when he heard he'd have to bunk in with 13 women he quickly changed his mind!!!!

So, come on ladies, please join us. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to get better acquainted with our newcomers. By the way, the rules state no phones, no TV, and no children under the age of 19. Communing with nature is the goal of the getaway.

The cost is quite reasonable - $125 per night – and we form carpools and share ferry costs to get us there. Room and board includes three incredible meals and two snacks.

Please speak to Doreen McQueen or Joanne Thompson if you are interested in joining us or would like more information. The deadline for registration is Sunday March 18.
